In 2011, FBPINARDI S.A purchased a MBR sewage treatment system for domestic wastewater treatment with a capacity of 600m3/d. Till now, the system is

Membrane (MBR) Bioreactor
Membrane bioreactor technology is a new kind of sewage treatment technology which combines the membrane separation technology with biological technology. By using the membrane separation device, it can intercept the active sludge and macromolecule organics in the biochemical reaction tank which replaces the secondary sedimentation tank, thus, it can improve the concentration of the active sludge, and degrade the material which is hard to degrade. Therefore, the membrane separation technology highly strengthens the function of the bioreactor.
Compared with the traditional biological treatment methods, it features high biochemical effect, strong load impact resistance, stable outlet water quality, small floor occupation, long period for sludge discharge, and automatic control. It is one of the most promising technologies for sewage treatment. Since the nineties of 20th century, it is widely developed and used in Japan, France, Canada, etc. With years’ research, Zhejiang University has developed the core device of the membrane for business use, that is polypropylene hollow fiber membrane. And this technology has been granted the national patent of invention.
After using the MBR technology, the main pollutant (COD) can be removed 90%, and the SS of the produced water nearly to be zero, the stable water with good quality can be reused to realize the wastewater recycling.
MBR technology is mainly used in treating the municipal sewage, domestic sewage and the high concentration organic sewage field, etc.:
1. Microbe concentration can increase 2~3 times, biochemical effect can improve 10~30%;
2. Short residence period for hydraulic power, long residence period for the sludge (organic macromolecular glue material).
3. No need second sedimentation tank, sludge concentration tank nor disinfection tank.
4. Long residence period for sludge discharge.
5. Easy operation and self-control.
6. The service life of the hollow fiber membrane can be more than three years.
